5 años de VIDA! Hoy tomé un tiempo para reflexionar sobre este viaje que absolutamente nadie desea emprender. He conquistado miedos, me he alejado de cualquier cosa que apagara mi luz y me he enfocado en mis metas. Aprecio la vida y trato de celebrar metas grandes o pequeños. He crecido exponencialmente durante este tiempo, lo suficiente como para sentir que he vivido 10 vidas. 5 Years of LIFE!! I took some time today to reflect on this journey that absolutely no one wants to go on. I have conquered fears, distanced myself from anything that dimmed my light, and have focused on my goals. I cherish life and try to celebrate milestones big or small. I have grown exponentially during this time, enough to feel that I have lived 10 lives. I hope to live many more years filled with adventures and with the love of my family and friends. Why I believe in traveling passionately. About 2 months ago I bought mom a trip as her 70th bday present. She turned 69 this year but because of the rare cancer she is going through, I didn’t want to wait until next year to gift her something like this. Because cancer is a bitch and an emotional rollercoaster, two weeks after I bought the plane tix and started to plan the trip, new nodes showed up. The oncologist thought it was a recurrence and she may have to go through another biopsy, change of treatment, etc🤦🏾‍♀️. He said she may not be able to go on this trip at all. We had to wait 6 weeks for the next scan for him to make a decision. Let me tell you that we are leaving in two weeks with the oncologist’s consent. The new nodes are stable and for now we celebrate!!!! Mom cried not only because getting stable results is great news but she will be fulfilling the dreams she had as a teenager. When she was young, travel for pleasure wasn’t financially accessible. My grandparents and some of their children migrated to the US in the 60s to work hard nonstop, and to provide their children with the opportunities that they never had. This is why I always say that if traveling is your passion, it is important to travel as much as you can, while you still can. This is a reminder to myself that this is my why. In the face of life's challenges, we've learned that dreams are worth chasing, no matter what. This trip is not just about celebrating Mom's 70th; it's a tribute to our family's journey and a reminder that life is meant to be lived fully. 🌍 _____________________________ Español en los comentarios
